Well, here we are.

I’ve always liked writing. I kept a couple of weird journals as a kid about everything from roller coaster riding goals, to my introduction to rock climbing at summer camp. My first diary was pink with teal ballet shoes on the cover, and when unlocked, the first page was full of fun facts about my six year old self. I remember standing in the bathroom at my parent’s house (I mentioned this was weird), and my sister asking me the “getting to know you” questions listed on the first page. My first interview. Funny. FYI, my favorite band at the time was Beach Boys, and my favorite song was “Cold Hearted Snake.” It’s amazing what memories stick with you decades later. I think that journal is still somewhere in my parent’s basement.

Despite my somewhat unique career choice and weekend adventures, it never crossed my mind to do anything more than share pictures of my life here and there on social media. I’m a very private person. I’m also an introvert. On top of that, I can be shy and very socially awkward. Publicly documenting my life in the age of over-sharing has always been a no-no in my book. But, I find so much pleasure doing the weather everyday and being in nature on the weekends, that I want to share at least that with the interwebs. Conveniently, I can sit in my bubble of peace and quiet to type away, intermittently stopping to pet CL, and I don’t have to say a word while doing it. Win-win.

So, here we are. I’m writing a blog, and you’re reading it. Or not. I know it won’t interest everyone, and that doesn’t bother me. I’m here to share my experiences, maybe inspire some adventure trip ideas, and give you a little insight into the person on your TV in your living room every morning.

My sister and parents may disown me for posting this. I miss our house wallpaper. Literally, those are houses on our wallpaper.
