Most people visit Yosemite and spend their trip in the Valley. Some make it to Glacier Point Road, and drive their car to the end. I realized last year that I’ve traveled this road 5 different ways (including by car), which is pretty unique.

Moose Lake, take three
Yesterday on Earth Day, I posted a photo to Instagram of one of my favorite places, Moose Lake. That reminded me…I’ve had “finish writing Moose Lake backpacking trip review” on my to-do list for a loooong time. It’s been almost 3 years.
So, um….here it is.
Continue readingWant to hike up and over the Sierra in a day?
I was in Kings Canyon National Park filming my On The Trail web series for work, when I had a really intelligent idea. Why don’t I hike across the mountain range? Start on the west side, end on the east side. It’s merely a day hike, and I’ll prove it!
Continue readingIt’s been a while…
It’s been almost a year since my last blog post, and I’ve missed it! I’ve thought about it multiple times in the last 12 months and how I need to get back to my regular updates.

I love making a trip to the Eastern Sierra during late September and early October. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and it’s my last hurrah for the warm hiking season. Continue reading
Going north
Since moving to California over 3 years ago, I’ve explored all over. From the Bay Area, to the Central Coast, LA, San Diego, Eastern Sierra, the desert. All over, except north, I should say.
I finally drove in that direction in mid September. I had an opportunity to stay in a cabin near Donner one weekend. I will say that even after that weekend, I STILL haven’t seen Lake Tahoe! Continue reading
The most Instagram-able hike
Do it for the ‘Gram!
I had a free weekend back in August and decided it was time to get back to the Eastern Sierra. Big Pine Lakes was another hike I’d been wanting to explore for a long time, and I finally had a chance to do it. Continue reading
Competition for my favorite hike of all time
When I first moved to CA in 2015, I had a very short bucket list of must-do hikes. Half Dome and Mount Whitney were pretty much it. I knew very little about other wilderness areas and parks, so I set out to do the most famous Sierra hikes within my first year of living here.
